Ongoing Evolution of Holliston PTO - New Leadership Structure and Revised Bylaws

Last year the Holliston PTO marked a shift to becoming an independent organization outside of the PTA national structure.  This year, as a next step in the process of establishing a local PTO organization, the Holliston PTO is proposing a revised leadership structure and bylaws designed to make the PTO more efficient and sustainable.   The proposed new leadership structure eliminates the need for a completely separate townwide executive board, instead assigning townwide executive leadership responsibilities to officers in the school-level officer positions.   While most of the ongoing activities in the Holliston PTO will continue to occur at the school levels, the programs that span all school levels, including – Parent Education, Destination Imagination and Ski/Snowboard – will continue to be supported as townwide programs under the dual leadership of both school-level boards.

The Holliston PTO bylaws have been revised to reflect these proposed changes - a link to the draft is below for review by any current members of the Holliston PTO.
A meeting to answer questions and vote on the revised bylaws will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00 in the Holliston High School library. All Holliston PTO members are welcome.

Did you know that PTO memberships expire at the end of every school year in June?   It may be time for you to renew or to join PTO if your membership has expired or you are not currently a member.  PTO depends on memberships to help fund the outstanding programs, grants and scholarships it’s able to offer our students, parents and teachers.

The PTO runs on volunteers, and we need more people to help out. There are many programs in jeopardy of being cut if we do not have new volunteers to fill open positions.   Please consider volunteering for one of the many opportunities available.
